At last year’s IAA Transportation, ElectroFleet GmbH launched the “TCO Alliance” – an industry initiative that presents complete technical solutions for the electrification of truck fleets. The TCO Alliance has been operational since the beginning of the year. The professional network shares know-how about the e-truck ecosystem at trade fairs and its own events and connects fleet operators with providers of technical solutions. In addition to the initiator ElectroFleet GmbH, the following companies are currently members of the TCO Alliance: Ferronordic e-Rental GmbH, Avalon Solutions GmbH, k2 Mobility GmbH, Fraunhofer IFAM and Power Innovation Stromversorgungstechnik GmbH. The aim of the TCO Alliance is to familiarize truck fleet operators with e-technology and the associated ecosystem in theory and practice, and to show them how they can electrify their truck fleets – with a competitive total cost of ownership (TCO). The industry initiative will once again be present with its own events in the fall, including at the e4 Testival at the Hockenheimring on October 17, 2025. There, the TCO Alliance will be offering a workshop and test drives with electric trucks on the legendary racetrack. ElectroFleet GmbH, a cleantech energy supplier from Osnabrück, launched the TCO Alliance in fall 2024. The first projects to implement depot charging park solutions are already being planned. The membership structure of the initiative has changed somewhat since it was founded: In addition to the founding members of the TCO Alliance ElectroFleet and Ferronordic e-Rental GmbH, current members include Avalon Solutions GmbH, K2 Mobility GmbH, Fraunhofer IFAM and Power Innovation Stromversorgungstechnik GmbH. The industry initiative deliberately remains open to other interested parties, provided they complement the network in a meaningful way. “The aim of our TCO Alliance is to provide all the technical solutions required for a successful transition from diesel to electric trucks,” says Mark Hellmann Regouby, founder and CEO of ElectroFleet GmbH. “With this industry network, we provide truck fleet operators with the complete ecosystem for electric trucks – all from a single source.”
TCO Alliance: An ecosystem for the electrification of e-trucks
Due to its outstanding energy efficiency, the electric truck plays a central role in the decarbonization of freight transport on the road. Depending on the application, the analysis of the total cost of ownership (TCO) shows this competitive advantage of the e-drive over the diesel truck very clearly in some cases. ElectroFleet GmbH therefore consistently supports truck fleet operators in switching to emission-free electric trucks – with a fixed electricity price over a term of 10 to 20 years and investment in the necessary infrastructure. The members of the TCO Alliance cover the following components of the e-truck ecosystem:
- Electrofleet GmbH: electricity supplier and financing partner
- Avalon Solutions: Software for stationary load and charging management and route planning
- Fraunhofer IFAM: individual TCO analysis and energy system dimensioning
- k2 Mobility: Operationally integrated load and charging management at the depot and on the route
- Ferronordic e-Rental: Rental and sale of electric trucks
- Power Innovation: battery storage and integrated DC charging points
The comprehensive range of technical solutions offered by the “TCO Alliance” includes:
- Fleet analysis and design as well as the planning and installation of charging infrastructure including IT control by selected partners of the “TCO Alliance”
- Leasing or rental of electric trucks by selected partners of the “TCO Alliance”
- IT solutions for load and charging management, route planning and monitoring of electric trucks by selected partners of the “TCO Alliance”
- Provision of hardware for power supply and charging infrastructure by selected partners of the “TCO Alliance”
- Financing of certain hardware components by Electrofleet by individual arrangement, in conjunction with a power supply contract.
- Energy supply by ElectroFleet with electricity from renewable sources at a contractually secured fixed price with a term of up to 20 years.
